Outside

Picture
Science Fiction
Ever responded to a dare in the heat of the moment,
only to find yourself in deep trouble as a result of it?
And worse, every warning you have been given about
life outside your own safe world is suddenly coming alive in front of you?
This is the situation David finds himself in,
and his actions are about to have consequences on
everyone around him in ways he could never expect...

Excerpt:
'One drop of acid is enough to melt the skin from the bones. One drop. And now they were falling in their thousands from an increasingly dark sky, just paces away from the cave. It was mesmerizing. David sighed. Boy, had he blown it big time. Did anyone even know he was gone? And if so, did they miss him? Okay, so it had been pretty stupid sneaking out of the complex in the first place, but for a dare? In hindsight even he thought that was over the top. Soon the filter would clog around his nostrils and the deadly ozone would seep in on invisible wings. Every hatchling in the complex knew what would happen if you got even a whiff of outside air. It was drummed into their collective genes by long boring lectures on brain damage and coma, not to mention death. What I wouldn’t give to be back in class. Or even doing kitchen duty in the Lab with Matron herself. His friends would die in disbelief to hear him even think that, but right now the urge for something normal screamed through his body. Why did I get lost? Sure, he was pretty cocky and liked pushing things to the limit, but he wasn’t stupid, at least not by his own measures. He’d memorized those maps down to the last piece. Still he got lost. Something wasn’t right and now it was too late. He wrapped his arms around his knees for warmth and closed his eyes, promising himself he’d rest them for only a few seconds...'

FIRST KILL (this story was published in 2006) and is now available as e-book

Picture
A female snipers first mission.
"When the Melting took the polar ice caps, the world was exposed to a breed of new species lying dormant under the ice. The rising water claimed landmass and lives, and the world that we knew, changed.

Most people accepted the symbiotic alliance created between us and these reptiles, but some confessed their hatred for them.
Now a Death Squad is heading towards this Neutral Dragon Territory, a place where we can't interfere, but nothing says we can't stop them before they cross the bridge.

Women are still not preferred in the role of a sniper, but like I said, the world has changed.
My finger is on the trigger, and I am waiting... "
